Which course is for you
- Research methodology course
- Eight weeks, one evening a week, online with two in-person days in Buea. From a research question to an approved protocol. For clinicians, students and NGO staff new to research.
- Data analysis short course
- Two weeks, three evenings a week, online. Stata or R from first import to publication-ready tables. For anyone with a dataset from an audit, survey or thesis.
- Online short educational series
- Self-paced recorded lessons of 20 to 30 minutes, with a monthly live question session. For professionals who cannot commit to a fixed timetable.
- University of Washington courses
- A 12-week continuing professional education course delivered with the University of Washington, with local facilitation by SRA and certification on completion.
- SRA systematic review mentorship programme
- A 16-week sprint with a mentor and weekly sessions, from protocol to manuscript or preprint. For researchers with a review question and five to eight hours a week.
- One-on-one research mentorship
- A personal mentor in renewable three-month blocks, at your pace, from first idea to submitted paper.
How to use these research resources
The research resources listed above start with the courses, which are the structured route: the research methodology course takes you from a question to an approved protocol, the data analysis short course from a dataset to a results table, and mentorship from a draft to a submitted paper. Each course page explains who it is for, what is included, how long it takes and how to apply.
The external links are the tools we use every day. REDCap, ODK and KoboToolbox are free data collection platforms that work offline on a phone. The EQUATOR network lists the reporting guideline for every study design, and following the right one is the single most effective way to get through peer review. PubMed is where you check that your question has not already been answered.
Downloads will grow as the team adds course brochures, application forms and project reports. If you need a document that is not here, ask through the contact page and we will send it or add it.
