How we work
How our research support services work: fixed scope, written milestones, one point of contact
Every engagement with our research support services starts with a discovery call of 15 to 30 minutes. We confirm the question you need answered, the audience for the result (a funder, a journal, a hospital board) and the date you need it by. Within three to five days you receive a written plan with milestones, a named lead and a fixed price or day rate.
Work is delivered from Buea by staff and fellows who have published themselves, with partners in five African countries for fieldwork outside Cameroon. Data are collected on REDCap, ODK or KoboToolbox with daily quality checks, analysed in Stata, R, SPSS or NVivo, and reported to the relevant guideline (CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA or SRQR).
You keep ownership of your data and your authorship. We follow ICMJE authorship rules, register protocols before data collection, and return a report to the partner as well as to a journal.

Before you request research support services
- How much do research support services cost?
- Consultancy is charged by the day or by deliverable; project execution and writing are quoted after the discovery call. Every quote is fixed once the plan is signed, and NGOs and public hospitals receive our institutional rate.
- Can you work outside Cameroon?
- Yes. We have delivered studies in five African countries with local partners for fieldwork, and analysis, writing and training are delivered online to any country.
- Do you take authorship on papers?
- Only when a member of our team meets the ICMJE criteria. Editing and analysis support are acknowledged rather than credited as authorship.
- How quickly can a project start?
- A discovery call is usually within a week of your message, a written plan within five days of the call, and most projects begin within a month once ethics approval is in place.
