Skill, reliability and a record you can show
For research jobs in Cameroon and remote roles alike, members are selected on three things: a demonstrated skill (a published paper, a delivered analysis, a funded proposal or a completed course), reliability against deadlines, and a willingness to work in a team that reviews each other's work. A postgraduate degree helps but is not required; a portfolio is.
Every member signs a short agreement covering confidentiality, data protection and authorship. Work is reviewed before it goes to a partner, and members receive written feedback on each project. Members who mentor new fellows are paid for that time as well.

How the expert network works
- How are members paid?
- By project, against agreed deliverables and milestones. Rates are set when the project is scoped and confirmed in writing before work starts. There is no fee to join the network.
- Do I need to be in Cameroon?
- No. Analysis, writing and proposal work are done remotely. Field roles and some training roles are in Cameroon, and we say so in the call.
- What happens after I apply?
- We review applications on a rolling basis and reply to every applicant within two weeks. Strong profiles are added to the network even when no project is open, and members are contacted when a matching project starts.
- Can students apply?
- Postgraduate students with the relevant skills are welcome for analyst, editor and data collection roles. Undergraduates are better served by the courses and by research mentorship.
